This is a group of ancient tombs located in Kuroe, Kainan City, Wakayama Prefecture. There are seven ancient tombs scattered on a small hill called Oyama (Oyama), two of which are open so you can see what’s going on inside.
Tomb No. 1 is a stone chamber with a total length of 7 meters, consisting of a burial chamber, a corridor, a door stone for the corridor, an antechamber, and a stone that seals the antechamber. Stones made from split chlorite schist from Mt. Daisen are piled up, and the upper space of the stone chamber is reinforced with four stone beams to support the wide burial chamber, which is up to 3 meters wide. Furthermore, the ceiling stones of the front and rear corridors and the stone shelves on the back wall are used.
Tomb No. 2 has a burial chamber, passageway, and passageway, and the burial chamber is approximately 2.8 meters long and 1.8 meters wide. It is made of chlorite schist, and the upper space of the burial chamber is supported by two stone beams, the ceiling stones of the front and rear corridors, and a stone shelf on the back wall. The left and right walls of the burial chamber are divided equally into three sides, top, middle, and bottom, and the boundaries between each side are lined with long, large split stones.
