Quick Tips
・Koyasan is significantly cooler than Osaka or Wakayama City (approx. 5-10 ℃ difference). Please bring an extra layer even in summer. In winter, heavy snow is expected—waterproof boots are essential.
・Okunoin is a sacred site. Photography and food/drinks are strictly prohibited beyond the Gobonyobashi Bridge. Please maintain a quiet tone of voice to respect the pilgrims.
・We will walk about $2km on ancient stone paths. Comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended.
・The 10:30 AM tour often coincides with the ritual of offering meals to Kobo Daishi. Experience this living tradition with me.
・We recommend using the ‘Koyasan World Heritage Digital Ticket’ (Nankai Railway) for the most cost-effective travel from Osaka.
・After the tour, I will personally show you the best local spots for Shojin-ryori (Buddhist vegetarian lunch) or the hidden ‘Koyasan Sesame Tofu’ shops.
・Coin lockers are available at Koyasan Station. Please travel light as we will be walking through the cemetery.
