Example of Dreams

The Soul of Wakayama: A Private Epicurean Journey

Your journey begins in the serene embrace of Oka Park, nestled at the foot of the historic Wakayama Castle. In this sacred ground once beloved by the Tokugawa Shogunate, you will start your day with a “Lord’s Tribute Meal” (Hanshu-Kenjo-Ryori). This is a rare, private dining experience featuring historical recipes once presented only to the feudal lords of Kishu. Each bite is a refined taste of the past, connecting you to the dignity of a 400-year-old dynasty.

In the afternoon, we head to the nostalgic fishing port of Saikazaki, often called the “Amalfi of Japan.” Moving beyond the typical tourist path, you will join me on the docks to greet returning fishing boats. Here, you will experience the thrill of purchasing the “Catch of the Day” directly from the fishermen—a true privilege of the locals. We then take your selected treasures to a trusted local chef, who will transform your fresh bounty into a bespoke private dinner tailored exactly to your palate.

As the day nears its end, we set sail from the historic shores of Wakanoura for a Private Sunset Cruise on a traditional fishing boat. This is not a crowded sightseeing ferry, but an exclusive charter just for you. As the boat glides across the golden waters, you will witness the breathtaking cliffs of Wakanoura and the silhouette of the coast bathed in the fiery glow of the setting sun.

History, people, and the sea. This is not just a tour; it is an invitation to possess the very best of Wakayama, curated exclusively for you.

・The Privilege of Access: Buying direct from fishermen and arranging historical tribute meals requires deep local connections. I act as your key to these “closed-door” experiences.

・A Story in Every Bite: From the Shogun’s table to the fisherman’s hand, I provide the cultural bridge that turns every meal into a memorable narrative.

・Flawless Flow: Leave the logistics to me. From timing the boat’s return to coordinating with the chef, your only job is to be present in the moment.

Sacred Cats & Golden Highlands

Your journey begins at the nostalgic Idakiso Station, where the world-famous “Cat Station Master” awaits your arrival. Enjoy a private photo session with this charming feline ambassador while soaking in the spiritual atmosphere of the nearby Idakiso Shrine, dedicated to the god of trees.

Next, we venture deep into the mountains of Kimino, a hidden gem of gastronomy. Indulge in an exclusive lunch at a secluded Italian restaurant, where dishes are crafted with vibrant vegetables harvested just hours before. To follow, we visit a renowned artisanal gelato shop, savoring the pure flavors of the mountain springs and local fruits amidst the singing of wild birds.

The grand finale awaits at Oishi Kogen Highlands, 870 meters above sea level. Wander through a sea of golden pampas grass that stretches to the horizon, offering a 360-degree panoramic view. As the sun begins to set, the entire landscape glows in a breathtaking amber light, with the distant sea shimmering in the background.

Slow down and breathe. This is a day of pure relaxation and discovery, crafted exclusively for your soul.

・Seamless Mountain Navigation: Kimino Town and Iwashi Plateau are difficult to access, but with a dedicated charter or guided navigation, we’ll take you to the best spots without the stress of getting lost or parking.

・The Perfect Timing: Perfect schedule management that works backwards to figure out the cat stationmaster’s working hours, restaurant reservations, and the “hours of the most beautiful light” at Iwashi Plateau.

・Local Table Connection: Utilizing our local network, we’ll make dining suggestions, such as popular restaurants that are hard to book and the best seasonal gelato flavors.
